Back in January, I wrote a post about a lull in the magics. In this post, I outlined the concept of boredom and lack of motivation. Spoiler alert, it's here again!
Like usual, though it has been 8 months so perhaps not that usual, the feeling of "bleh" has sat with me for about a week now. I have stacks of decks on my desk, unopened and unexplored. Shelves of books, not to mention the stack of them ... also on my desk ... that are waiting for me to crack open. I haven't posted anything to Instagram in a week and a half, normally I post at least every other day. I haven't even interacted much on the platform, other than the occasional chat now and then.
I actually wanted to film something yesterday morning, but when I brought out the camera and deck, I just blanked. Coincidentally, Kier Gomes (@kiergomes) recently posted something similar to his YouTube channel:
That pretty much sums it up for me too. Except, I didn't bother filming -- it would have ended up quite identical to his video given most of my recent ones are just like that =P
The good news is that I think I'm over the hill now; interest in everyday things like cooking and cleaning (yeah, I like cleaning... don't hate =P) have sprung back to life today so I think that it's only a matter of time before I'm back at it. I did start watching some older magic videos again too. That's always fun =]
In even better news, I've been doing a lot of backend coding on the site in the last couple of days. It's nothing that you'll see right away, but I'll be changing the way a few things look on the site and adding some new features! This is one of the cool parts about creating my own site from scratch, rather than using other platforms like WordPress or SquareSpace or Wix, etc, etc, etc. It's a heck of a lot more work, but at the end of the day it's something that I created -- and that's a nice feeling.
