Lady Moon

Lady Moon

How to describe the Lady Moon Playing Cards by Art of Play? It feels short to call the deck simply art, so to expand a little I'll have to say it's an exquisite fusion of mythology and artistry. Or, beautiful art.

Step into a world of enchantment and divine femininity with Lady Moon Playing Cards. Designed to embody the essence of The Triple Goddess archetype, this deck is a mesmerizing expression of the sacred trinity throughout the phases of a woman's life.

The journey begins with the tuck itself, adorned with gold ink printing and featuring an embossed "Lady Moon" title on the front. As you hold it in your hands, you can sense the elegance and attention to detail that went into its creation. But the allure doesn't end there; a delicate sticker seals the tuck, bearing the powerful words "The Maiden, The Mother, The Crone," symbolizing the timeless cycle of life. There are two versions of this deck, the original printed in 2019 and a newer one that was released... well, sometime after. The tuck design is the same between the two, not including the color shades that have differed and the printing that runs along the bottom.

Turning our attention to the back design of the cards, we are greeted with a stunning composition that mirrors the design of the tuck. The 2019 version boasts a regal all-gold back, while the newer edition showcases a blue hue, complemented by shades of orange and gold that exude a sense of vitality and energy. The intricate details and careful color selection make the back design a true visual delight.

The traditional suits of Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades receive a subtle but captivating makeover, adding a touch of elegance and uniqueness to every card. This attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the deck reflects the divine feminine energy they embody.

Finally, we come to the court cards, where the true magnificence of this deck shines through. The Jacks, Queens, and Kings feature fully custom artwork, each depicting a different stage of a woman's life — The Maiden, The Mother, and The Crone, respectively. These beautifully illustrated figures capture the essence of the Triple Goddess archetype and bring the cards to life with their grace, power, and wisdom.
