Joker and the Thief: Midnight Blue Edition

Joker and the Thief: Midnight Blue Edition

The Midnight Blue Edition deck of playing cards is Joker and the Thief's first deck of playing cards and helped establish their creative and unique style for both tucks and cards.

The tuck features a silver foil stamping across the entire thing, highlighting the intricate design across. The inside also features a hot-stamped foil design too, something they were able to keep for future versions of the deck too.

The cards, which carries to the next few versions of this design, have a one-way back design that has a king in one corner and a jester in the other; but there are other beautifully designed elements that push it into a one-way design too.

The faces are fully custom too, everything from the pips, the pip colors, and the court cards. The courts and jokers are also highlighted with a silver metallic ink that compliments the design perfectly.

They went with the classic stock and finish by the Expert Playing Card Company to ensure it has incredible durability and handles amazingly. And you know what? It does!

The deck consists of 56 cards:

  • 52 playing cards
  • Two non-identical jokers, one the Joker, the other the Thief
  • Two ad cards

This deck was originally available via a Kickstarter campaign that was fully-funded in 2015. The first edition tuck was embossed on all sides, and the deck was printed by EPCC.

A reprint of the deck came later on with a non-embossed tuck and printed by USPCC using their Crushed Performance Stock with a Linen-Glide Finish.

Where to buy?
