False Anchors V2
False Anchors V2 playing cards, the second deck in the False Anchors family by Ryan Schlutz, bring back the nautical theme in an even stronger way than the first, and also ramp up the philosophical hiding in plain sight concept to the next level!
The tuck is printed with a very muted green; not the strongest of designs but being part of a series, it works as it gives contrast to the others. However, the real strength lies with the cards themselves.
The card backs are a very strong teal, much like a beautiful sea. There's a lot going on on the backs too, with anchors and mermaids and the common tagline of "Perception is Reality" -- which really digs into the false anchors concept.
While the faces are standard USPCC Bicycle faces, which yields benefits of being able to work well with other decks, there are also some great touches that have been added. At first, you may think that there are two identical Jokers... and then you'll realize that the back of one is actually an Ace of Hearts! Now that's just sneaky!
And then, and in my current phase these happen to be my favorite gaff card type, but then you come to what is normally a blank face card and a double backer in custom decks... except in the False Anchors V2 deck, there's none of that nonsense. Instead, there are two mis-indexed cards! There's one Ace of Hearts that has a Two of Clubs on one index, and then the other card is the opposite -- a Two of Clubs with an Ace of Hearts on one index. Holy smokes, there are some killer effects that can be done with cards like these! I'm quite excited to put them into play =]
The deck consists of 56 cards:
- 52 playing cards
- Two identical jokers
- Two mis-indexed cards
- Double-faced Joker / Ace
